20th November 2018
On the 20th of November, Polruan travelled to Pelynt school to come together to learn about keeping safe, healthy and fit in our Health and Wellbeing Day.
This day, organised alongside Arena, promoted healthy eating, mindfullness and awareness of keeping healthy.
Activities included pilates, scanning bar-codes and finding out about hidden sugar, astronaut fitness and cooking healthy foods.
Despite the cold weather, all the children and staff learnt lots and made some new friends from the other school!
4th July 2018
On the 4th July, the brave Year 5 and 6's swam the river to Fowey and back. The whole school were there to support and it was even filmed by the BBC!
We are so proud of all those who took part in the swim and for the parents for organising the event. The support from the village (and holiday makers) made a huge difference!
24th May 2018
On the 24th May, the whole school went down the coal wharf to show the whole community (and visiting children) the three dances that we have been practising. There was an amazing turn out with stalls and BBQ that kept the entire village busy and entertained.
The children were a credit to themselves and all had a fantastic time. The crowd was also treated to a performance by Polruan Youth Choir.
Many thanks to Bonnie, Rachael and FOPA for their help and support with the event. Thanks also to the many members of the public who were such a fantastic audience.
Stay tuned to find out how much money was raised for school.
27th March 2018
On the 27th of March, the school held the annual Easter Tea Party for grandparents and older members of the community.
The children sang a beautiful rendition of "Hot Cross Buns" and then the Year 6 children served tea, coffee and hot cross buns to the guests.
Everyone had a fantastic afternoon. Thanks to Tesco for providing the delicious hot cross buns, the teachers and pupils for their performance and, most of all, the older people for making the afternoon such a success.
